AWARDS

In order to ensure that each submission is studied and rated on an individual basis, SYTYCA has instituted a system to insure that entries do not compete against each other, but instead are recognized for their own individual merits.
For all intents and purposes, they compete against themselves: each entry is judged on individual merits and scored on an inherent value system.

We want to ensure that the judges focus is on you when it is your turnto be evaluated,  not on all the other actors that are in cue: this insures that they will not have comparisons going on in their minds when they should be focusing entirely on YOU.

Points to know about being judged as a Director:
The film you submit as an example is not judged per se, just its aspects that reflect on you as a director.
We use sound, camera work, cinematography, actors,lighting,post-production, and any other aspects of the project that fall into your final approval. For example, let us say the film you directed has just one mediocre actor; it reflects poorly on you because you went on with production. Unpleasant sound? Fall again on you, bad cinematography, also, you.
If your film has no faults, you will rate higher on the award scale.
In short, the film could win a high award, although there were one mediocre actor and one bad camera take that didn't influence the judge's decision; however, when being judged as a director, those little things will cost you points.
Directing is about making final decisions that make the film excellent in all aspects.
